Join us kayaking in and around one of the most beautiful harbours in the world
Quick Details
Exquisite beaches, hidden coves, and superb Italian cuisine on Isola d’Elba
We both love this trip. This where Patrizia fell in love with Sea Kayaking. You’ll see why. Beautiful scenery and fantastic food.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Meet & chat
We start the week by meeting and greeting everyone at a get together on the first evening while sampling our first local wine. We get to know everyone very quickly as we only take a maximum of eight people. We have a chat about the weather forecast for the week and make a provisional plan of how the trips might go.
Days 2 and 3 – Kayaking Days
After breakfast each day, there are two days of relaxed paddling on crystal clear, warm water to enjoy. We keep an eye on the weather and sea state, and if the conditions are not good for your paddling ability, we enjoy the views from the vineyards instead, hiking between the Medieval Villages.
Day 4 – Rest day from kayaking
After breakfast, we visit Napoleon’s estate in Portoferraio, the main village of the island, followed by lunch in a local restaurant. In the early afternoon, you are free to spend time shopping or relaxing on the Ghiaie beach. The late afternoon sees us guided by a local expert on their sumptuous food and wine.
Days 5, 6, and 7 – Kayaking days
After breakfast, we again decide which of the 90 miles of coast we enjoy. We cruise around the Tuscan Marine National Park, improving, if required, your paddling skill. Each day ends dining at a local restaurant with handcrafted food and wine.
Day 8 – Departure day
All good things come to an end. After breakfast, we say ciao at the ferry terminal.

We take total advantage of being in the country that’s arguably the food capital of the world. Every lunchtime we take a break where it’s just strolling distance to either a village taverna or a local market providing fresh, seasonal produce.
Evening meals are enjoyed either at our hotel or a local restaurant. If you’d prefer to be on your own to wander into the local village and see what appeals, please feel free to do so.
Your accommodation will be in a double or twin room with en suite or private bathroom in a characteristic hotel or bed and breakfast located in quiet areas with great views where you will be able to rest and relax in the company of friends and a local glass of wine.

Hiking is very popular on one of the many walking trails in and around the villages. Climb the 1000-meter height of the Monte Capanne; go to a different beach every day, from colorful pebbles to black sand to granite rocks; hire a mountain bike, scooter, or car.
